The Road to Success
Sometimes you’ve gotta share the stuff that’s hittin’ and this definitely is.
I can’t remember who said it and for that I’m sorry, but they said that the road to success is paved with mistakes well handled.
This was said in the context of business and how perfection is impossible to achieve in that context.
While this serves as a great reminder to business owners that they shouldn’t chase perfection - it is broadly applicable to life as well.
I would not consider myself a perfectionist by any means but for some reason when it comes to what I am working on with YouTube, I create content and review it and feel like I can do so much better.
I am creating video after video in a vlog format and it is so easy for me to talk in those at times and the content seems so natural and then I try to put together well thought out content and it feels so slow and lackluster relative to the standards that I have for myself.
This leaves me constantly making videos and wanting to completely redo them after I get through editing.
This quote hits because it gives me permission to accept that some of the content is going to be the best of my ability at this point in time, even if the best of my abilities at this point in time isn’t exactly where I want to be.
I can look at the issues as learning opportunities to pave the road to success instead of looking at them as the obvious blunders that they currently feel like.
